Etnic tawau

ETNIC IN TAWAU



Malay society in fact not only in the Malay Peninsula but also in Sarawak, in Pontianak, Brunei and Indonesia. But many do not know that in fact Malay community in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia away at the end. Although since independence, the Muslim community in Sabah Bumiputra gazetted as Malay Muslims but existence in Tawau has been around for over a hundred years ago the asmilasi between ethnicity and cultural mix of Malay stock clumps like Tidung, Arabic, Pakistan, Bugis, Banjar, Jawa, Cocos, and many others. They speak and practice Malay customs and culture, and they have long existed in Tawau since the days of British rule, when the Japanese military occupation
Tawau Malay community's ancestors lived through the reign of the British and Japanese are not the same as Indonesian migrant community (Bugis, Toraja, Timor) and Philippines immigrants (Visaya, Tausuq, Bajau) granted citizenship status because immigrant communities are relatively new existence after birth Malaysia and after the existence of their own .And there is a difference is culture, practices and lifestyle differences and language differences in between them.)
